Six million motorway vignettes sold last year
The second most popular choice, and the most recently added to the portfolio, was the one-day motorway vignette, with 1.5 million sold. It was followed closely by the 365-day vignette, purchased by 1.2 million motorists, while the 30-day vignette ranked fourth with 600,000 sold. The most motorway vignettes were sold during the summer months of July and August, when nearly 1.5 million were sold in total.
Domestic motorists accounted for almost half of all purchases, making them the largest group of buyers. Czech motorists purchased nearly one million motorway vignettes, and revenue from their purchases rose by six percent year on year. Revenue from motorway vignette sales to Austrian motorists rose by 13% and to Romanian motorists by 10% year on year.
The expansion of the motorway network also contributed to growing interest in motorway vignettes. Last year, NDS opened four new motorway sections, delivering smoother traffic, more comfortable journeys and shorter travel times for motorists.
The only official online channels for purchasing a motorway vignette remain the website www.eznamka.sk and the eZnamka app. Motorists can also purchase a motorway vignette at petrol stations or information and sales points at motorway border crossings.
Over the past two years, since NDS took the e-vignette sales system under its own management, it has introduced several innovations. It added a new type of motorway vignette—the one-day vignette—redesigned its website and expanded payment options through Apple Pay and Google Pay, significantly improving customer convenience.
